Using a metronome properly

Start slower than feels necessary and only move up when a passage is clean twice in a row. Practising mistakes accurately is still practising mistakes.

Using a tuner

Tune with a steady, normal tone rather than a careful quiet one, check tuning again once you are warm, and use the tuner to learn what in-tune feels like instead of watching it constantly.

Building a routine

Short and daily beats long and occasional. A useful shape is a warm-up, one technical item, one hard passage in small chunks, then something you simply enjoy playing.
